Made in England by W. T. Copeland and Sons in the late 1890's this jug has a stoneware body which has been decorated by white jasperware on dark blue ground. The body has been well modeled with attention to detail and fine potting, crisp cut out an applied swagged garland of flowers. The pattern is called 'dancing hours' and the figures which are the main decoration are also well modelled and with a lot of details. Marks: Brown printed 'Copeland Late Spode' (ship logo) No. 180288 ENGLAND' impressed 'Copeland' 'England' '18' Condition: excellent.
