French Empire Writing Table. Circa 1815
Fine French antique piece developed to supply the demand for writing furniture, particularly from women. Small mahogany writing table, or ladies writing desk. Flat-topped rectangular table with a single drawer, supported by four column shaped legs united by stretchers. Ormolu mounts featuring Empire style motifs as antique female figures, palmettes and rosettes. Inside the drawer are compartments for writing utensils. Very good condition.
