Set of four Art Nouveau woven silk panels depicting the four seasons in French titles: "Le printemps", "L' ete", "L'automne", "L'hivers" - (spring, summer, fall, winter). Each of them having an idealized portrait of a young woman in profile wearing seasonal fruits like ornaments in her hair. Silk thread colors: Red, green, white, gray, black and more. The internationally reknown Hungarian artist Arpad Basch studied under Bertalan Karlovsky and Simon Hollosy in Budapest, Hungary. Later he continued his studies in Paris. He also worked in Munich. After his return to Hungary in 1896 Basch played an important role in pioneering the applied graphics in his works. He was active as illustrator, poster designer and painter (oil paintings) and his works appear on postcards.
